A. NDR-UK resources are divided into three ranges that provide different types of diet and nutritional information. The development group agrees how much support the target patient/client group will require when being issued with the diet-sheet. The diet-sheet is placed in the appropriate range when it is published. This ensures that the information is communicated and understood appropriately. The three ranges are:
D – should be given to patients/clients with the support of a dietitian. These resources are only available to view and purchased by registered dietitians. Contact us for more information.
HP – should be given to patients/clients with the support of a relevant health or care professional.
PiL – general nutrition information for members of the public to pick up.
A. NDR-UK makes a small charge for its diet-sheets to cover print and production costs only. All NDR-UK prices are calculated to ensure that customers receive the best value possible whilst striving for a sustainable resource service.
A. A 20% discount to the listed prices currently applies to customers based in Scotland and Wales only.
SNDRí approached each UK Home Country (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) seeking short-term investment for 5 years to enable long-term sustainability of NDR-UK. Home Countries committing to this vision for the future will receive a 20% discount on orders placed. To-date only Scotland and Wales have committed to this vision for the future.
A. NDR-UK resources aim to give consistent health messages and avoid duplication of effort by other health related professionals. A robust production process ensures that all the nutrition and diet resources are developed following an assured and consistent procedure.

- NDR-UK’s customer feedback:
‘I have been a dietitian in England for 14 years and have always believed that diet resources should be produced at a national level to ensure evidence based information while preventing inconsistent advice. Too much time has been wasted debating minor details of diet sheets at department meetings. We've all been there!’
Specialist Dietitian (2010)‘Congratulations on the development group for pulling together excellent resources which will be helpful in practice. We will now have consistent written advice UK wide developed by dietitians on IBD.’
Specialist Dietitian on the Crohn’s pack (2011)
‘…very clear, to the point, follow nicely in succession through factors in life and education. Covers everything and would be great to implement making family/child think through events, actions…’
Diabetes Specialist Nurse on Paediatric Carbohydrate Counting Pack (2010).NDR-UK estimates that it can produce resources 33% more efficiently than individual departments. This is achieved through greater efficiencies in the development and management of a centralised service for resources.
Pass on the NDR-UK flyer which summarises the points above.
NDR-UK suggests using a suitable space within a resource (usually on the back page) to place a sticker with the issuing department's logo and related details.
A. NDR-UK will consider individual resource translation requests from NHS Health Boards or other health information providers. Following approval of a request:
NDR-UK will release a text-only copy of requested resources for translation. Upon release of this text, responsibility for the quality and appropriateness of any translation lies wholly with the individual who issues the translated resource to the patient/client (NHS Board or other care provider). NDR-UK will not accept any responsibility for the translation after releasing the text.
NDR-UK recommend that translation is only carried out by experienced, accredited translators in liaison with a specialist dietitian who is fluent in the spoken and written language of translation.
A. NDR-UK standard resources are printed using 130gsm, matt paper. Resources for Adults with Learning Disabilities are printed on 220gsm, matt board.
