Partners and Supporters

NDR-UK is committed to being a key partner to the dietetic and related health and social care community. We can only achieve this if we build and maintain relationships with partners and supporters who engage with us. Collectively they contribute invaluable resources – expertise, information, funding and precious time – to help ensure that our information materials meet the needs of patients.

Scottish Government

The Scottish Government (Population Health Improvement Directorate) has been a key strategic and funding partner in the creation and on-going development of NDR-UK, helping to establish NDR-UK as a charitable company, from its predecessor SNDRi (Scottish Nutrition and Diet Resources Initiative). This support enabled NDR-UK to deliver its first 5-year strategic plan to become independent and grow towards self-sustainability.

The Scottish Government continues to provide strategic input and some on-going core funding and has continued to financially support the development of new resources including:

British Dietetic Association & Specialist Groups

The British Dietetic Association (BDA) is the professional association for dietitians.  They and NDR-UK share principles and values, and enjoy mutual benefits from working together.  BDA specialist groups represent the dietetic experts and specialisms within the profession. NDR-UK works with several of the specialist groups of the BDA to create and maintain resources covering specialist dietetic topics including oncology, liver disease, eating for health for older adults and type 1 diabetes.

NHS Services, Patient Representative Charities and Professional Bodies

One of NDR-UK's founding principles is to share good practice.  Other organisations and groups recognise the value of our production process and the opportunity to create, develop and/or update information and make it available via our print and electronic distribution routes.  By working in partnership with specialists from NHS services, charities and professional bodies, we collectively increase awareness, share good practice and improve access to robust information across the UK and beyond.

British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS)

BOMSS is the professional society of surgeons involved in obesity management. Membership of the society includes medical professionals and allied health professionals including specialist nurses, dieticians, psychologists and dieticians. NDR-UK has worked with BOMSS dietitians to create resources which support those under-going bariatric surgery.

Since the original 'Sleeve Gastrectomy' resource was published in 2014. Since then the range has grown, and demand increased for this highly specialised dietary guidance to support people through recovery from different surgery types, guiding them on longer term management to ensure good health.

Coeliac UK

Coeliac UK is the charity for people who need to live without gluten.  NDR-UK has been grateful to be working with them since we were established.  Their support and contribution to our Gluten-free Living resource has been invaluable to keep information up to date, supporting people with coeliac disease or dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) from diagnosis.  The resource continues to be one of our most popular titles and is used throughout services across the UK.

NDR-UK has worked with QMS to update their publication “Getting the Balance Right”, and continue to distribute this very popular general healthy eating resource.

The London Diabetes Dietitian

Chanda Pattni, The London Diabetes Dietitian, specialises in supporting people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes.  With a focus on supporting people from South Asian communities, Chanda noted the need for and opportunity to develop culturally relevant information to support portion control.  Working together, we adapted the popular NDR-UK pictorial resource 'Weight Loss You Can See' for people from the UK Gujarati communities.
