To provide healthy eating and lifestyle for adults through the first line stages of the care pathway from the UK evidence-based practice guidelines for the dietetic management of IBS in adults.

The resource will provide general healthy eating and lifestyle advice for adults with IBS and IBS-like symptoms (first line stage of care pathway) (HP).

The Target Group will understand:

  • what IBS and its symptoms are
  • that they should be tested for coeliac disease
  • that lifestyle factors may cause/trigger/contribute to IBS and IBS-like symptoms and tips to alleviate these issues
  • how to modify their diet, fluid intake and eating pattern to relieve/manage IBS and IBS-like symptoms.
  • probiotics can be helpful
  • keeping a food and symptom diary may help link foods/lifestyle issues that aggravate symptoms.
