Advice requires some explanation from a Health Professional who has basic nutrition knowledge to enable correct implementation.

To prevent excess weight gain, achieve weight loss, prevent weight regain and optimise health and reduce risks linked to overweight/obesity.

  1. The Target Group will understand what weight management is.
  2. The Target Group will know their recommended daily energy intake for weight loss and/or maintenance to achieve their target weight.
  3. The Target Group will know their recommended level/type of physical activity for weight loss and/or maintenance/general health.
  4. The Target Group will understand the risk to health of being overweight and the benefits of achieved healthy weight loss/management.
  5. The Target Group will understand how to change/apply behaviours and coping strategies to achieve their target weight.
  6. The Target Group will understand the risks of overweight and obesity, and the benefits of managing their weight.

Please be aware that the UK Chief Medical Officers have issued new advice regarding alcohol consumption:

  • Men and women are advised to drink no more than 14 units of alcohol a week, and to have several alcohol free days each week.
  • Women should take no alcohol during pregnancy.
