Following confirmation of the UK’s adoption of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), NDR-UK has been reviewing and updating its Easier Swallowing Pack (9083-9092) with the kind support of Dietitians and Speech and Language Therapists from across the UK.

The updated pack will contain 4 booklets that aim to support adults who have been assessed by a Speech and Language Therapist and been recommended a modified texture diet with food on IDDSI levels 3-6.

The booklets include an explanation of dysphagia and the associated risks, how to prepare and choose food suitable for the level, an area to confirm the patient’s drink level, how to add nourishment as appropriate, and high risk foods to be aware of. The booklets are illustrated with level appropriate food/meal suggestions, and designed to complement and comply with IDDSI labelling colours and symbols.
