Information for people in recovery following Roux-en-Y or one anastomosis gastric bypass. It may not be suitable following other surgery types or if OAGB biliopancreatic limb is greater than 150cm. Individual’s needs will vary based on their surgery, recovery pace and/or any complications.

To ensure that consistent dietary/nutritional restrictions following a gastric bypass are understood and followed by the TG.

 

To achieve recovery and weight management following sleeve gastrectomy bariatric surgery

The target group will know:

  1. The four stages of the Sleeve Gastrectomy Diet
  2. To include high-protein, low-fat foods
  3. To avoid sweet/sugary foods
  4. To chew foods thoroughly
  5. Not to eat and drink together
  6. To reduce or avoid alcohol post-surgery
  7. To continue take multivitamins and minerals as prescribed or advised, and quarterly B12 injections for life
  8. The target group will understand that vomiting, reflux and heartburn should not occur, and must seek DT advice if it does.
