Advice requires some explanation from a Health Professional who has basic nutrition knowledge to enable correct implementation.
To understand the main dietary and associated lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of developing CVD.
- The Target Group will know what common risk factors for CVD are.
- The Target Group will know that poor diet and lifestyle choices are a controllable risk for CVD.
- The Target Group will know how to make dietary changes and/or choices to decrease CVD risk and improve overall health.
- The Target Group will know how to interpret and adapt the eatwell plate to meet their needs.
- The Target Group will know what the Mediterranean diet is and how to use it to decrease their risk of a CVD episode.
Please be aware that the UK Chief Medical Officers have issued new advice regarding alcohol consumption:
- Men and women are advised to drink no more than 14 units of alcohol a week, and to have several alcohol free days each week.
- Women should take no alcohol during pregnancy.
