Type 1 Diabetes Explained
A simple overview explaining what Type 1 diabetes is, and how its causes and management differ from Type 2 diabetes.

Advice requires some explanation from a Health Professional who has basic nutrition knowledge to enable correct implementation.
To explain the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The TG will know:
- what diabetes is
- insulin is needed to control blood glucose levels
- people with Type 1 diabetes no longer produce insulin
- symptoms of untreated diabetes
- what ketones are, why they occur in the body and that they cause damage by making the body acidic.
