Recipe of the Month

With our brand new website, comes the launch of our new ‘Recipe of the Month’ feature. Every month we will be sharing a delicious, nutritious recipe with you including details of how and why it has been developed.

This month, and first up, is a delightful Berries & Cream shake from our new recipe book, Nourish. It’s a firm favourite with both our team and customers, and it’s so simple and easy to make.

Through a food first approach, the Berries and Cream shake aims to help boost energy and protein intakes in those experiencing unplanned weight loss and/or reduced appetite, and are at risk of malnutrition.

The recipe was developed by Kathryn Duff and Shelley Hindes from the Northern Health and Social Care Trust Prescribing Support Team. The team works directly with GP’s, pharmacists, nursing and residential care homes to identify and treat malnutrition in adults – they were awarded the 2018 Clinical Nutrition Award for ‘Community Nutrition Professional of the Year’ for their outstanding work in providing patient-centred care in the management of malnutrition.

So why not give it a try and let us know what you think – here’s how to make it in 2 simple steps…
