Needs Assessment 2023

Published: 30.01.23

Last April, NDR-UK launched its 2022-2025 strategy.  Central to this, is the message that we support services deliver patient care.  By providing robust systems to facilitate the expertise of specialists via collaboration and co-production, we pledge to deliver:

  • High quality resources that meet health challenges and achieve economies of scale
  • Enhance workforce knowledge, skills and influence
  • Evidenced information, personalised and delivered via different media
  • Resources tailored to meet patient pathway needs without duplication

A vital workstream in this delivery is monitoring and evaluation to understand how well we are achieving our aims.  A priority for this workstream is to identify how we can best support service delivery by seeking feedback from our customers, stakeholders and networks.

The three main questions/topics we are investigating are:

  • What are services’ priorities for patient education – topics, media, methods etc?
  • What are the challenges in providing robust dietary information now and moving forward?
  • How do services assess and approach provision of dietary advice to patients both from dietitians and non-dietitians e.g. in MDTs, primary care settings etc?

By building our understanding of these key areas, we aim to prioritise and plan our development projects to ensure impact and sustainability.  We will be contacting key customers, networks and groups directly.  If you would you like to get involved or contribute directly, we welcome your views by email or we can arrange a meeting to explore these issues.
