Recipe of the Month

It's Nutrition and Hydration Week (16-22 March 2020) and today is #ThirstyThursday, so what better time to bring you a new Recipe of the Month.

Nutrition and Hydration Week aims to highlight the value of food and drink in maintaining health and well being. And here at NDR-UK, we are dedicated to improving personal health and well-being through the provision of expert nutrition and hydration information.

It's an important time for all of us to eat and drink for health, and the NHS has some simple tips to help you: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/.

It's also particularly important that we make sure older adults have the food and drink they require. Small, positive changes such as using Enriched Milk can make a big difference in reducing the risk of malnutrition.

So here's our step by step guide to make Enriched Milk (taken from the Eating for Health - currently in development). Give it a try, or share with colleagues, friends and family who may benefit from some extra nourishment.

  • coffee, hot chocolate and malted milk
  • porridge or add to breakfast cereal
  • custard or other milk puddings.

The newly updated resource Eating for Health will be coming soon to NDR Prescribe, along with Eating for Health with Diabetes. We have been working with specialist dietitians from the BDA Older People Specialist Group to review and update these resources. For more information visit our in development and review page.
